The 2018 Clean Water Classic

Well Monday has arrived and that means the 17th annual Clean Water Classic is officially in the rear view mirror. Unlike last year I was only able to attend Sundays heats which as it turned out was the best day weather wise. I was a little bummed to miss out on the festivities that go on at Loge at The Sands as they usually have some really good food, beers and music to keep the fun going well into the evening. If your thinking of coming to Westport for next years event or maybe for some winter time storm watching please consider these local sponsors when planning your trip (LOGE, Westport Inn, Westport Marina Cottages and The Breakers Boutique Inn)

Loge at The Sands - 2017 Clean Water Classic

From what I understand some of the scheduled heats for Saturday were cancelled due to the weather which if you’ve been to Westport, WA before isn’t something that’s all that surprising especially this time of year. However Sunday was one of those Indian Summer days that we all hope for this late in September with blue skies and sun along with temps in the mid sixties. Anytime I can head to the beach in a t-shirt and light zip up hoodie is a great day in my book.

With the weather being so nice I was able to wander around on the beach for about 4 hours or so taking photos so let me just tell you there are a whole lot of them. I’ve tried to pick out some of my favorites so that I can share them with you all on here. You might want to kick back with some Hama Hama oysters along with an ice cold 10Barrel Brewing Co. beer and relive some of the sights though the images below. All of the images can be enlarged just by clicking on it. I hope you enjoy.
