Fotodiox Pro Lens Adapter - Lost River Photos

So I have to confess that I am a huge gadget and adapter guy and the beauty of having a DSLR is the number of adapters available. You can mount almost any brand you want to whatever camera body you own and that's fantastic news if you have a bunch of older or random lens laying around. In my case, I have been eyeing an adapter made by Fotodiox that would allow me to mount my medium format Mamiya lens onto my Canon DSLR. Why you may ask well why not is what I say. While I still use my Mamiya 645 it would be nice to get even more use out of what are some really sharp lenses.

Currently, I own 3 different Mamiya lens the first is a Mamiya Sekor C 80mm F/2.8 which has served me well as a everyday shooter lens. Next up is a Mamiya Sekor 55mm F/2.8 also a great everyday lens with a bit more of a wide angle. And last but not least is the Mamiya Sekor D 120mm F/4 Macro which is both a great portrait lens and also a macro with 1 to 1 capabilities.

As you can see from the photo there really isn't much to the adapter itself. It simply mounts to the camera body and then to the lens. However, it is extremely well built and feels good in my hand. I'm not worried about it at all putting up with extended use of being tossed around in my photo bag. I purchased mine from Amazon for $39.95 plus tax and at the time I thought the price was a little steep for this type of adapter I no longer do it's just put together that well. Now for the sample images. I took all three lenses out and about in Westport, WA and shoot a few images with each so you are able to see what kind of results. I was very impressed, to say the least, and will certainly be using whenever I can.

Clicking on each photo will enlarge it, I recommend doing this to truly see how sharp these lenses.
